Doncaster Park & Ride
Scheme Outline: Construction of a floodlit Car Park which consists of 331 parking spaces, construction of a 40m² Facilities Building to service the Park & Ride (consisting of ticket office, kitchen area and toilets), S278 Works to form the new entrance to the Park & Ride. The site was fully enclosed in fencing surrounded by a considerable amount of landscaping.

Additional Details
- Construction of a new park & ride car park (with control building) off the A638 (York Road, main route off the A1 from the North into Doncaster) which is a 50mph dual carriageway.
- The S278 works on the scheme consisted of making a new access off the existing dual carriageway into the site, widening the opposite side of the carriageway to enable a right turning filter lane to be constructed in the central area, planning/surfacing works & high friction coating.
- Installation of a new set of traffic lights, numerous street lights and new illuminated signage to this junction.
- The traffic management comprised of reducing the speed limit to 30mph, full fast and slow lane closures which had to be maintained 24hrs/day
- 50 miles of foul sewers, associated chambers and connections including onsite Sewage treatment ‘WPL Diamond sewage range treatment pant’
- 1,000 metres of surface water drains, associated chambers and connections. Surface water outfalls into on site balancing pond..
- 2,000 metres service ducting.
- Works in environmentally sensitive areas e.g. working alongside Archaeologists during bulk excavation activity.
- Co-ordination of Statutory Undertakers installation/diversion/protection works of new services to the site.
