Scheme Outline: Construction of a circa £400 million new float glass plant in the Humberside region. American owned client with the project being managed by their French/ Luxembourg office.

Client: (John Mowlem) Carillion.

Value: £10 million.

Additional Details:

  • All earthworks and reinforced concrete works including externals, roads, drainage, car parks, hard standings and sub structures.
  • 68,000m³ of bulk excavation and stabilisation.
  • 8,500 concrete piles and contiguous piles to furnace basement.
  • 19,000 tonne of imported fill.
  • 18,500m³ of concrete.
  • 5,300 metres of drainage from 150mm to 825mm together with 2,000 metre filter drainage.
  • 12 metre deep furnace cellar taking 2,500m³ pumped concrete.
  • 30,000m² of surfacing.
  • 500 metre of cast in-situ 5 metre x 3 metre tunnel.
  • 28,000m² of mesh and 970 tonne of bar.
