Leeds Bradford Airport contract marks flying start to 2010 for Hewlett
Leeds-based Hewlett Civil Engineering has landed a million pound contract with Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA) to further improve the airport’s parking facilities in line with its ongoing £28m development plans.
The award winning company, which employs 400 staff and bases its head office at Thorpe Park in Leeds, has been contracted by LBIA in a design and build contract to enhance parking provision.
On completion the development will create an additional 1,000 parking spaces. The contract – which will be completed in two phases, the first on 30th April and the second on 28th May 2010 - incorporates earthworks, stabilisation, associated drainage works and road works. Work commenced from January 2010.
The improvements form part of the preliminary stages of the airport's plans to invest £28m to provide business and leisure passengers with state of the art facilities and enhance their experience whilst travelling.Commented Rob Hudson from Hewlett:
