Fund-raising event to be held at Garforth Town FC

Keeping fit whilst raising money for charity is a great incentive for staff at Hewlett Civil Engineering who, are hoping to raise hundred’s of pounds for St James’ Hospital in Leeds.

A team of eleven from Hewlett will put their best boots forward for a football match against the Royal Mail at Garforth Town FC on Saturday 9th August….with the hope of raising hundred’s of pounds for the Respiratory Unit at St James’.

Says Colin Edwards from Hewlett who has organised the match: “It should be a good event, with hopefully a large number of spectators attending to show their support for the good cause.

“To help raise as much money as possible we are holding a raffle and have a great selection of items that range from signed Leeds Rhinos memorabilia to match tickets and even a private box for four people to enjoy a day at Elland Road.

“Our team has been training hard and we are confident of raising lots of money…and of winning!”

Hewlett, on many occasions through the efforts of its staff, work very hard to put back something to the communities it operates in. This includes one off financial donations to smaller causes sometimes enabling smaller, non registered charities and good works to receive the vital financial assistance they need. To the company, raising money for the units at St James’ is just as important as supporting the larger national charities.

Kick-off is at 3pm and there is a £2 entrance fee, proceeds of which will go towards the total raised for the hospital.

Hewlett Civil Engineering is a successful and growing construction group, established in 1987 and now employing over 600 people. The company operates from three bases, the head office in Thorpe Park, a new high-tech maintenance and training centre at Cross Green and the recently opened Central office in Warwick.
