Hewlett announces divisional restructure to better manage business targets
Hewlett Civil Engineering has announced a restructure of its operating divisions to include Defence, Power and Process and Highways. These new divisions will be supplemented by the existing :- Housing Infrastructure, Rail, and Training.
Headquartered in Leeds and with an office in Warwick, Hewlett says the changes to its divisional structure have been designed to more closely align with the company's growth priorities and to enable the firm to focus even more effectively on the opportunities that exist within these two sectors.
Comments Alan Cooper, Managing Director: "As a company we continually review our services and processes to ensure we focus on our core strengths and continue to be a stable provider.
"While our current structure has served us well over many years, it no longer fully reflects our clients' needs or the specialist sectors in which we operate. By re-organising our operating divisions we intend to build on the experience we have already gained in the power and highways sectors and also bring a greater coherence to our operations.
"With a balanced business mix, and the ability to explore and develop new markets I have every confidence the business is in good shape and that this strategy will result in the Company being stronger than ever, in terms of financial and competitive positions."
The Power and Process division will target future opportunities within the energy, industrial and petrochemical markets. The new Highways division will serve to target local authorities and private developers.
The changes to the divisional structure of the Company does not have any negative implications on staffing levels but ensures Hewlett have teams of appropriate scale and structure to deliver its future growth targets.
Hewlett said it is continuing to perform well having won several new contracts across a range of sectors including a £1.5 million contract to further improve parking facilities at Leeds Bradford Airport and a contract with energy company E.ON to provide site remediation and a new road infrastructure at the site of a former coal-fired power station in Sheffield.
