Additional Details.
-
Major Works were carried out creating a brand new station alongside a busy passenger and freight route on the site of a decommissioned 1960’s station.
-
Safety critical staff were deployed to set up daily safe systems of work. These included T2 protection and T3 possessions to protect the workforce and the railway infrastructure.
-
Careful environmental controls were needed to control Japanese Knotweed and the abundance of slow worms.
-
Specialist track monitoring systems were installed to monitor for any potential track movement whilst piled and reinforced concrete foundations were constructed.
-
Setting out of the foundations and modular platforms was carefully controlled to ensure a fully compliant station was constructed to line level and gauge.
-
Existing FTN, signalling and Telecoms apparatus were diverted and maintained to allow completion of the works.
-
Disruptive possessions were used to allow the installation of the footbridge.
-
24/7 working using Hewlett’s in-depth PTS resource allowed a tight deadline to be achieved and enabled the on time opening of the station for the winter timetable after a delayed start.
