Scheme Outline: Construction of a ‘Sustainable’ residential village on a former coal mining site in Allerton Bywater. The development aimed to be an exemplar in sustainable construction.

• Roads and sewers to entire site including development of
  ‘Home Zones’ (vehicular traffic reduced areas).

• Foundations and groundworks to 197 dwelling units.

• Installation of non-man entry drainage system – the first on a residential scheme to be adopted by a water company.

• High specification floors with low ‘U’ value.

• Tank pits, bollards and grills with high specification paving including natural cut stone paving.

• Vibro piled ground solution with strips.

• The site won two NHBC awards.
