Training Centre

Training is a key part of our health and safety commitment. Our specialist Safety Department is responsible for arranging appropriate training for all employees. This ensures compliance with the latest regulations, and keeps our employees up to date with the latest industry standards and statutory requirements.

The attitude and policy we have towards training and the proof of competence including the Construction Skills Certification Scheme is a cornerstone of the success of our business. We endeavour to outperform all of our competitors in respect of the level of training provided and the commitment to improving construction skills throughout the industry. We received accreditation from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and City & Guilds to provide training and assessment in specialised plant and machinery operations and provide CPCS Assessment linked to the Group’s City & Guilds / CITB Assessment Centre status at our state of the art training establishment at Cross Green in Leeds.

Hewlett Civil Engineering Training is headed up by a dedicated team of trainers. The training facility, set on a 10-acre site, is the largest construction training area in Yorkshire, offering varied terrains and conditions to carry out instruction and assessments. It reflects 'live’ site conditions, and is unique in its provision of the CITB touch screen tests on the premises. In addition, the modern classroom facilities provide an excellent environment for presentation and study for the new theory tests.
